A little arts and fartsy but it gets you and the kids outside. Take a walk and have them collect some interesting leaves. Back home you can put them under a sheet of paper and rub a crayon over it using the side of the crayon with the paper wrapper removed. This creates a pretty cool image of the leaf with all the subtle veins and such standing out. Or put it inside a book and keep it closed for a few days to dry, then drop it into a picture frame. Great for show and tell at school, and even better as a gift for a loved one.
